About the project
Glagolitic script, of extremely interesting shapes, meanings and aura, deserves its place in present day as a part of contemporary Slavic native identity, and, in a universal meaning, as a source of positive energy in space.
Glagolitic inscriptions themselves provide exceptional ambient atmosphere.
Project “HIŽICA – Glagolitic in interior” promotes furniture with the motive of Glagolitic.
The aim of this project is to awaken Glagolitic and make it come to life through the use of furniture forms, in space, in shaping the interiorr and exterior (parks, educational paths, etc…), and as a portal of divine energy in our lives.
Selected materials are olive and walnut wood, copper and glass, which, according to my feeling, accompanies the importance and the beauty of the Glagolitic alphabet. The selected tree is indigenous, each piece is carefully chosen, and the finishing is ecological, linen or orange oil.
The furniture is designed to equip the representative area of city governments, embassies, ministries, banks, airports, libraries, academic and educational institutions, hotels, tourist offices and other public spaces, as well as to equip commercial and residential units.
An article devoted to these products was published in the journal of the’’Društvo prijatelja glagoljice’’ (‘’Society of Friends of the Glagolitic script’’) called ” Bašćina” („Heritage”) and was released in the Bašćina 13 and 15.
